Turners introduce new Driver Apprenticeship programme in partnership with GTG

Featured below are Robert Young, our training manager based at Exning, James Fraser from GTG and three of our new apprentices, Jonty Woodbridge, Jordan Brooks and James Barrell. They are part of the new partnership Turners have started with GTG West Midlands, being part of our continuous approach at introducing new blood into our driving community throughout the UK.

This compliments our own Driver Development Programme (DDP) operated from both our Exning and Bicker (Lincolnshire) operations that is now back on track in 2021.

Turners commit long term support for “Tom’s Trust” Charity

The press release below, from Tom’s Trust Charity, captures the long term commitment Turners are to provide this worthy cause. Spearheaded by Andrew Scarlett and Tracey Canham, who as you’ll read, ran the 2021 Cambridge Half Marathon in very respectable times (Andrew a PB!), these two new trailers will now travel the length and breadth of the UK advertising this very worthy cause, and in the process helping raise many more thousands of pounds to support children affected by this awful condition.

Turners – Driver of the Year 2019 – Results and details of this year’s Final

Turners Driver of the Year 2019 competition drew to a close on August 3rd with the final held at the Newmarket headquarters.

Starting in April and following three competitive rounds, over 1000 drivers battled to be one of the seven finalists representing Crick, Exning, Felixstowe, Bicker, Glasgow, Spalding and Donington depots in this years final.

The competition judges drivers not only on their weekly performance scores but compliance with tachograph infringements scores, Safety, adhering to company policies and procedures along with knowledge of Road signs & markings and EU regulations. The aim being to have the seven most professional all round drivers represented in the Final.
