Tesco 'Collaborative Partnership Award' for Turners...
Christmas 2014 saw record volumes managed through our Newmarket operation for Tesco. This coincided with a Festive meats campaign for Tesco customers ordering in store or on line only. So timing and accuracy of delivery was paramount to ensure Tesco customers received their Christmas meats at the right store on the right day and at the right time.
Tesco have recognised the high level of service provided by Turners with their 'Collaborative Partnership Award' which we are extremely proud to receive.
Leading up to Christmas 2014 Tesco advertised on TV, In store and on-line a range of specialist products, Turkey, Beef, Hams, Lamb, Chicken as well as other festive goods. It was customer specific as the products were personally ordered and not picked of the store shelves, so delivery precision by Turners was key in delivering Tesco customer satisfaction.
The process started with Turners collecting from the suppliers involved, consolidating the products at Newmarket and then delivering on to Tesco Peterborough distribution centre at specific times.
From there products were picked into cages based on Customer postcodes. We then took the full loads from Peterborough to the relevant Tesco distribution centres throughout the UK that serviced the store that would make the final customer delivery. Being fresh produce timing and accuracy were critical to Tesco.
All this happened while we managed record load volumes for Tesco over the Christmas period. .
44 loads of Festive products were delivered over a four day period and during this period over 920 loads were delivered into Tesco distribution centres.
Our congratulations go to all the staff involved at Turners for their commitment in delivery such high levels of Customer service for Tesco, the recognition is warmly accepted.
