Turners (Soham) Ltd is one of the UK's largest and most respected privately owned logistics businesses. We are looking to recruit a Traffic Operator to join our team at our Trafford Park, Manchester depot.

The Role
As a Traffic Operator, you'll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of our transport operation, ensuring our fleet operates safely, efficiently and delivers the high standards of service our customers expect.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Planning vehicle collections and deliveries, ensuring customer time requirements are met while maximising fleet and driver utilisation.
• Scheduling vehicles for servicing and maintenance in line with company requirements.
• Monitoring vehicle and driver progress throughout the day to ensure operations run smoothly.
• Providing support to drivers and resolving any issues that arise while on the road.
• Liaising with customers, drivers and management to provide excellent service and clear communication.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant road transport legislation and Working Time Directive (WTD) requirements.
• Supporting the wider transport team with administrative duties, including order entry and data input.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous transport or logistics experience (preferred but not essential).
• A background in logistics, distribution or supply chain operations.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Hours
This is ideally a full-time, Monday to Friday position. However, we understand that flexibility is important and are happy to discuss alternative working arrangements with the right candidate during the interview process.
