Bicker - Traffic Operator

Turners Soham Ltd is seeking to recruit a Traffic Operator to be based in our Bicker Traffic Office.

Successfully candidates will be working within a busy Traffic Office. Main responsibilities for this role include cost effectively planning and routing vehicles to achieve contractual delivery times together with effectively managing live changes to the plan and ensure customer satisfaction at all times. You will also be required to actively identify solutions to problems and cost savings in line with continuous improvement initiatives, and to ensure all traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a food orientated logistics business with a sound understanding of driver regulations, geographical knowledge of the UK and experienced in the use of subcontractors and agencies.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work within a team and using own initiatives are paramount to this role as are full pc skills and the ability to learn new computerised systems quickly.

Bicker - Transport Tracker

Due to continued growth we are currently recruiting for Trackers based at our Bicker depot.

You will be required to assist the Traffic Operators and Planners in the smooth running of the Traffic Office by ensuring all vehicles are tracked correctly and efficiently.

Main duties will involve taking a high number of telephone calls, speaking to drivers and customers, informing drivers of reloads, entering delivery information on to the system and resolving minor load discrepancies together with adhoc duties as required.

The successful candidate must be:-

  • Be confident
  • Able to work effectively within a busy transport office.
  • Experienced with dealing with high volume calls, as this is the main aspect of the role.

Bicker - Front Desk Administrator

Turners (Soham) Ltd is seeking to recruit a Front desk Administrator. Applicants should have first class organisational skills, accuracy and an eye for detail, confident telephone manner, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

We are currently recruiting for a Customer Support Administrator to expand our customer service team based at Bicker. The main responsibilities of the role will include:-

  • Handling phone, email, and in some cases face to face interactions with customers.

Castleford - LGV Technician

Turners (Soham) Ltd is seeking to recruit LGV technician to be based at our Castleford workshop.

Applicants must have fitter experience working on articulated trucks and trailers.

Duties include:
• General servicing and maintenance of tractor units and trailers.
• MOT preps and wash.
• Running repairs and defects.

• Working on Fridge, curtain trailer and powder tankers.

Candidates must hold a Category B Licence (car) and a LGV Class 1 licence is preferred but not essential.

Shift Patterns:

Shifts are on a rotated basis across 5 days on both nigh & dayshift. Start times are, 07:00 – 16:00 (Day Shift) 17:00 – 02:00 (Night shift).Shifts may be extended during busy periods & customer demand.

Experience:
Some knowledge of fresh produce is preferable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Computer skills, Word & Excel will also be beneficial.

QC Duties include:
• Checking raw material on intake.

• Producing quality reports.
• Quality checks on finished products.
• Label & packaging checks.
• Weight checks

This role is a full time position, working 4 day on, 3 days off (3x12hrs 1x9hrs).

Your duties as RT Driver include
• Operating a Reach Truck
• Picking /Building  pallets within our mobile and static racking
• Using our in-house warehouse system to record stocks’ location and confirming orders for despatch
• Working as part of a team and also be able to work on your own
• Completing all relevant paperwork and documentation
• Adhering to the Health & Safety Legislation, ensuring highest level of tidiness and cleanliness.

JOB ROLE INFORMATION
• Responsible for planning both vehicles and drivers to maximum efficiency
• Ensuring deliveries are made at the booking time
• Documenting all information relating to deliveries, tray collections and product returns.

ESSENTIAL / DESIREABLE CRITERIA
• Able to work in a fast paced environment
• Previous experience within a traffic planning role is preferable
• Knowledge of the tachograph and Working Time Directive legislation would be an advantage.
• Attention to detail
• Good phone manner
• Ability to deal with challenging situations in a professional manner
